Default will they still accept recalls for the eg civic?

haha, i was just reading/researching cuz my automatic daily driver civic is messed up.

from: http://auto.consumerguide.com/.../2049

NHTSA Recall History

1992-94: Retaining clip at automatic transmission can come off, so position of lever does not match actual transmission gear range. 1994: Passenger-side airbag module on small number of cars may contain incorrect inflator, therefore unable to provide adequate protection.

^^^ what happens when the retaining clip comes off?

Automatic transmission: Cars with high mileage may begin to shift more harshly, which may be corrected by adding a bottle of Lubeguard conditioner to the automatic-transmission fluid. (1992-95)

^^^ does this work? where can i get this?

Trunk latch: There may not be sufficient clearance on the trunk latch making it hard to open with the key. (1992-95)

^^^ hella true

what my car does: when i turn and start accellerate... around 2500, my car's transmission "slips" as in "i dont accellerate and i just rev". i just rev until let's say 5500 and then i start accellerating... only it accellerates like im in first gear

other times the transmission will just go kaput and just rev and i have to coast to the side while i curse the car.

but the strangest thing is.. is that when i turn off the car, and turn it on again it's ok for the next 6 miles any thoughts?

oh and i did a full flush using honda ATF like 3 weeks ago. so that rules out the atf being bad

Whe I took my 94 hatch to get a new master cylinder I asked them to do a recall check. They said everything was taking care of. Just go to the dealer and they will run your VIN and tell you if the work has already been performed. It won't cost you a thing. at least it diidn't at my dealer.

If the recall work has not already been done, they are required to do it if you ask. Doesn't matter how old the car is.

Take your VIN and have them run it through the computer for you to check on recall status.

BTW, sounds like you're going to be needing a new transmission in the near future . . . better start saving up.

they said the floor mats can be pushed towards the pedals and gather behind the pedals hence harder to brake.

If there is something that was recalled what do you have to do to get it fixed.

There are no USDM '98 EKs or EMs.

She has an EJ8.

Make an appointment to have the recall work done at your local Honda dealership.

I only see 2 recalls. The rest are just technical service bulletins that may or may not apply to your particular vehicle.

Also, keep in mind that any recalls dated before the date your car was delivered to its original owner will have already been taken care of. This does not necessarily include any technical service bulletins.
