Which coilovers to get for my 92 integra.
I recently bought a 1992 Integra. I'm looking to get some coilovers, but I don't wanna spend more then $300.00 if possible. This car is my daily driver and I would also like it to be able to go to the dragstrip when I go. If anyone has any recomendations please post.
I would love to have it be a smooth ride since this is my daily driver.
Thanks

True coilovers? or just the sleeve type?
I doubt you will find anything decent in the way of coilovers for $300. If you're talking about the sleeve type (skunk2 or ground control), either one is a good choice. However, if you want a decent drop, I highly reccomend aftermarket shocks.

I have heard good things about Ground Control, and Skunk2. I however, haven't taken a ride in a car with either one of them on it. How does the Ground-Control/Illumina combo feel? This is my daily driver also so I would like a smooth ride as well as the lowering with the coilovers. I think my maximum amount of drop would be 2", but that is max. I will probably go with 1.75" or so.

I love it with the GCs and illuminas I dont have them set on the softest setting so the ride isnt as smooth as it can be ( i like to feel the road a little more ) I do love thje adjustablility and the overall handling of the setup IMO it was money well spent

my GCs and Illuminas came to around $700 or so. Skunk2 will be stiffer than GC, but you can get custom rate GCs if you want. I would say GC over Skunk2 for a daily driver.
but if you are looking to spend around $300, I'm thinking a coilover setup isn't really a good choice. maybe some decent lowering springs and a set of koni reds or tokico HPs?
get a fairly good shock if you are lowering. and if you want to drag race, you might want adjustable shocks, so you can tune your launches.

Can you recommend a good set of lowering springs? Maybe something you have had experience with or have heard good things about.

yeah, if anything, buy some springs then save up for shocks or vice versa. but just wait till you have it all before installing [IMO]. especially if you get springs first, because you will just end up replacing the shocks anyway. and though some people love to do this, I don't love taking apart the suspension so much that I want to do it more than I have to.

so yea i also have a 92 teg and i need a suspension i was thinking about skunk2 full coilover the pro c but are expensive.can you guys give me others i thought about tein but thats really expensive so anyother suggestions?
nice 2+ year bump out of the archives
with suspension (and you hear this over and over), you get what you pay for.
first you need to look at what your main goal is. (performance, looks, adjustability, price, etc)

well i want a good suspension cus i bought my da from some guy who cut the front suspension so it hits hard when i run into potholes and bumps.but i mainly want a good suspension the look is not something im really worried about so would skunk 2 coilover be good because you can adjust that cost about 600 and i also foud some tein for 700.so any suggestions
I got tokico HP's and the tokico springs that come with them. they only dropped my car about 1in. the ride is pretty smooth, but its not that much of a difference. I got them for $400 + shipping ( i think..this was a year ago and i dont remember the price)
Im running K-SPORT 32 way adj , they are amazing i love the feel and they are adj so hard and soft settings a literally just a turn of a ****. youre not going to find any full coil over for 300. i picked these up for 600 used in fresh condition. The sleeve style work but the feel terrible and are a killer on stock/replacement struts.
match whatever you buy to the shocks. using 8/6k skunks on stock shocks will live maybe a few weeks before you blow them
the koni/gc combo is the best performing for the $$
i would not go above 350lb/in on stock shocks and no lower than a 2 finger gap.
tein s tech would be the absolute lowest and most spring i would ever put on stockers
buy a matched pair and do it right
