Default Integra Type r VS B16 Head

Quick question,

I have a 1997 Spec B18c (Integra Type R) in my civic hatch.

I have a 2000 Civic Si B16 Head. (not on the motor)

If I pull all the type r valve train off and put it in the b16 with the type cams..

and put this head on my block... would it do anything or be worth it?

People tell me the b16 makes more compression then the type r head?

fill me in.
thanks

same head, Type R head is lightly ported and polished, too. Keep the R head.

keep the R head, the B16 will not do anything for compression...

the B18c (gsr head) will increase your compression, but not the B16.

Im not positive but I thought the GSR head would DECREASE compression?

P72 heads have smaller combustion chambers = increased compression ratio

Besides larger/lighter intake valves and mild portwork on the intake ports, there is not much of a difference between the two. If you want to have the head worked on, it would be a cheaper base to buy a b16 head.

the b16 and the b18c5 bare heads start off as the same thing, the type r heads recieve minor port and polish at the factory, use the b16 head if you plan to do work to it, like race port and polish, valve job etc, if your not just sell the b16 head

No, they increase compression by about .2.
