I'd like to show up this year. Just need to work out somewhat affordable logistics. Towing it myself is out of the question. Maybe could hire a driver for food and shelter.

I was also thinking shipping by rail. Anybody ever ship a car in one of those rail/ship containers?

Renee and I are going to try to make it up to MO for a race this summer. Bobcat has promised he'll bring his ITC car out so I can kick his *** at his home track.
Why don't we make it a caravan Bowie? I'm sure Kevin can bring out 2 cars so both of us can make him look bad in his own front yard.

Well, we did have a pretty adventurous weekend. Ask Karl.
The ITC sprint was, honestly, way off the hook. And we had so many problems in the enduro it was almost comical. That we managed to win still hasn't really sunk in.
Lear took care of us though. I guess I gotta fill him with beer and Francis' cajun food next year.

I hate Ramen Noodles. I already have removed going out to eat from the budget entirely, but there is very little else that I am willing to have go away. This season will really be a bellweather for what I truely spend on racing. We'll see.

The best I can hope for is to squeak through paying for the offseason improvements and still be able to afford to run the Pro-IT series this year. Frankly, that may be being a bit optimistic. I am horrible about getting huge offseason plans after a great ARRC and then blowing a large portion of the season's budget on making the car better. I may have to skimp on something to pull it off.

 

The biggest change I'm making this year is to not run for points anywhere. This has killed me in the past because bad weekends have lead to added weekends to stay in points races. Budget killer.
Last year Renee and I actually started the year planning to run for points in both SARRC and ECR. That was just plain dumb and didn't make it halfway through the summer.

So this year its pick 5 weekends plus the ARRC and run for fun, not points. Should help keep the spending level.

I had to do that the last 2 seasons to get my debt gone from 2 years of chasing SARRC championships. I loved getting back in control of my money, but I really missed the competition and chase for a championship.

This year I am trying to stay in control but get the feeling by running the pro-it's. 5ish weekends + the ARRC seems like the plan. The big issue is that I am a glutton for track time, so I start looking at all the other races and going "hmm, I could run the Pro-IT, the SARRC, and the ECR that weekend" so then all of a sudden the costs get crazy.

GREAT photo in GRM Bowie. I've known that car for a lot of years now. It's never looked so good.

Finally got my hands on this issue today and Bowie does have a very nice solo pic on page 60. You can see me pretty good in that pic of the ITA class coming down the esses on lap 1 or 2 I'd imagine. I'm the orange Integra 4th in that pic (running 6th actually cause Stretch and Muresan are out of the pic already). You can see Bowie's little Miata hiding behind me breathing down my neck. Cool pic!
