Gen 2 Integra Engine Ideas
Anybody have some good ideas for an LS engine? I was thinking of doing the famed LS/VTEC conversion with a JDM Type R head. I really don't want to swap engines, but I heard the LSVTEC conversion isn't very reliable, and its one of my daily drivers. ANy thoughts?
I have an LS/VTEC on my DA and it's a daily driver....had the swap for almost 4 years now with no problems at all....I did a 98 GSR head on the LS block....
what year G2? if it's a 90 or 91 you could do a B16A and use the stock wiring harness, change to a VTEC computer, and run VTEC activation wires...
or if it's a 92 or 93 you could still use the B16A conver to OBD1 by changing the dist. or rewire the plugs on the dist. to the OBD1 style, wire in a 4 wire O2 sensor, VTEC computer, and VTEC activation wires...
but if you do this you're going to want to run a B16A trans too... all in all a rather cheap thing to do... $600 for just a long block from Hmotorsonline.com and think you get a whole engine head and all compared to like $400 for just a VTEC head plus the Golden Eagle ls/vtec kit you're already over $600 plus to do the ls/vtec right you need GS-R oil and water pumps... so that all adds up... plus headbolts haven't even been accounted for... so by the time it all adds up ls/vtec comes out to be more than swapping in the B16A... or in the same ball park if you buy the B16 trans that you would still want if you went with either engine...

MOney is not really a factor, whatever I do, I want to make sure it's done right and that I like it. So I'll save up if I have to. I was also thinking of getting a crower stroker kit and make it over a 2 liter
LS Turbo man. that's where it's at. 6psi. over 200whp, a great torque curve, you cant go wrong, especially if money is not a factor. not to mention a boosted ls sounds so mean and has a lot more potential if done properly than an all motor ls.

You might as well get the swap. The Ls/vtec engine with a LS tranny is not going to be fast. I would go turbo or swap in the B16 W/ the transmission.
lsvec boosted! and keep the LS tranny if your gonna boost.. i just finished my LS/vtec a couple weeks ago. runs like a champ. getting it tuned this week ill post some numbers. ls vtec boosted= fast, great torque curve, maddd crazy vtak yo0, boost for a long time with them long gears....
I was orignally thinking of going all out. JDM Type-R head swap, Crower stroker kit to bring it to like a 2.2 liter, I want to boost and spray it too. Of course this will probably take awhile to do. I really need to get pictures of it up. It's coming along nicely which is more than I can say for the 95 LS, which has some bad luck (or a bad driver) cause it keeps getting wrecked. Anyways I found a lot of products for the 90 LS motor, but there seems to be more of a variety for the swap. The only turbo I could find for the LS was on overboost.com and the Stage 3 was like $5000. I'm working on some sponsorship deals so I guess depending on what happens with those is what I'll do.
