Out of blue, just randomly when i would shift into 5th my tranny would grind 5th gear. Its the only gear that grinds and only above like 50mph. If i stick in into 5th anytime before 50-60 mph it goes in smoothy.... but say if i keep the 4th in till about 80 and switch to 5th it goes like GRRRRRRR click... and goes in. What could be wrong?
I got a stock f22b tranny, new oem clutch, new master cyl and new slave cyl, stock shifter lever.
Please help

My friends tranny does the same thing, its been a problem for him for a couple years and never lead to any major tranny damage... your situation may be different though. He's got an h22 in his car now though, so no more grinding.

 

samething to me ...
on auto.consumerguide.com they say that's a problem with 94-95 accord, and the fork, sleeve set, and mainshaft gear must be replaced.

I'm planning on doing an H22a tranny and engine swap so i shouldnt even stress it then?
