Hey guys, My friend got a an 05 RSX a while ago and so far we've put an axle back and short ram intake, but for some reason the vtec feels and sounds weaker than the 04 RSX i was wondering if any of you guys have experienced this as well and can it be fixed?

 

It feels weaker probably because they smoothed out the Vtec engagement. Also, give it time so the motor completely breaks in (could take 10k+). My cheapo k20a3 feels stronger now @ 48k then it did at 5k, 10k, 20k etc.

 

On top of what redronnin22 said the 05 also has more sound dedeading. Its harder to "hear" it for that reason.

 

Just give it time my young padawan. Use the force....VTEC force that is!

 

The VTEC transition is much smoother on the 05 RSX. Also you may not want to modify it yet. I don't think companies have had much time to work on them to make more power than stock. Acura did a pretty badass job on this one.

 

Thanks guys this is a lot of help, but for some reason with the engage smoothed out feels like the 05 lacks the essence of Vtec maybe thats just me

 

My 03 gets stronger everyday. Type R's just start getting there strongest around 30k.
