rad. fan or oil pan

rad. fan or oil pan
on my 97 hx when ever i turn off my car there is this ticking noise from the engine, i am thinking that its is the radiator fan and a friend told me that it is the oil pan dripping, which would it be, and if it is my rad. fan is this normal

Your catalytic converter makes a ticking/cracking noise as it cools when you turn your engine off. It is a normal sound that all cars with converters make.
