Default opinions on 350mm semi-round wheel?

I am looking into getting a new steering wheel, so put in when i install my new interior. I was wondering if anyone is using a wheel similar to this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33704

shape-wise that is. Do you like it? Do the handgrips make it hard to cut sharp turns where you need to spin the wheel >180?

Thanks

IMO that wheel looks really ugly and id rather have stock any day. but the shape is 100% preference.

i have a tenzo wheel almost identical to that (except without that blazing red center cap thing) and i absolutely love it. its a major improvement from my stock wheel.

i would just worry about the reliability of the wheel as in how sturdy it is and most importantly how it feels in your hands. granted, you can't know this in advance because its on ebay but i would hate to get a wheel like that and it be hard as a rock. my tenzo is quite comfy to the touch and i love it.

I have the sparco extreme 2 in my daily driver and love the shape and feel to it.

Here's a picture of it:

BTW it's a 310mm so it's a little smaller than the 350 you posted about and I actually really like the smaller wheel. Never going to go back to a stock style wheel.

i forgot what size mine is but i think its somewhere in the range of 310-330 maybe?? it feels small, i know that. i like it cause it feels more responsive (in my opinion) and definitely not bulky like the stock wheel (mainly because there is no airbag).

nice wheel btw. i was going to get a mugello or an Isotta Nivola D-shape but went with the tenzo (probably because it was cheaper haha)

it depends on what you do with your car.. if you autocross then i would stay away from the squared off wheels. i wouldnt like it but thats just my opinion. i like a perfectly circular one for quick/hard turns.

i had a 350mm Momo Competition in my last hatch... i loooved it. it felt so great and made turning a lot easier.. def. better response. plus it looked damn cool!

now i have a stock steering wheel.. it feels big and wonky you get spoiled after you drive on one so plan on never having a stock steering wheel again (unless its JDM R or S2k or something of the sort)

yeah funny you mention tenzo becuase i was gonna get the tenzo version 5, but then i found this wheel, and it looks, like you said almost identical and at $100 less than the tenzo i think im gonna get it, prolly just get some type of adhesive center cap to go over the terrible swiss army symbol .

BTW nice interior -> i wish coulda found a black interior for my ej but i picked up a nice gray one instead

be careful not to go too small or it'll feel like you're driving a toy

I used to drive with a Sparco Ring steering wheel, which is also a flat bottom, 350mm wheel. I liked it, but as stated above, if you're an autocrosser, you should look for something completely round. I sold the Sparco wheel for something smaller, and ended up with a Momo Monte Carlo 320mm, and I like the smaller wheel much better than the 350mm wheel. Now I trade off between the Monte Carlo and a Momo Race which is also 320mm.

Just make sure that wheel is not smaller then your stock one because you won't be able to see your cluster for ****.

The Momo Race 320mm that I have puts the center and arms lower on the wheel, so you can see the gauges clearly.

Yes, I have an adjustable column, but I keep it all the way down. With non adjustable ones, the column is pointed upward, so you'd have a more direct clear path to the gauges. I wouldn't go smaller than 320, as it would probably run right through the middle of the cluster, which would be annoying.
