Default replacement OEM keyless entry remote configuration

I have a 97 integra, I used to have a keyless entry remote...and then it stopped working. Like the light would stay red as long as I hold a button, nothing worked anymore, panic unlock or lock.

I got a new keyless entry remote at the dealership...and last time when mine was broken, I called dealerships trying to get it to work again, and they said that I could do some funky trick like...turning the ignition, pressing lock, turning off the ignition, pressing unlock, i dont know? Something like that. Anybody knows how I do this?

Is this possible? Or do I need to have a complete installation and whatnot? I'm not interested in an alarm, I just want keyless entry again.

Any help?

it sounds like your car is in valet mode. look in your owners manual to fix it.
