leaving the car unattended for 1 month
yep, no problem there. if you can, get someone to start it periodically and let it run, say, once a week or so. When you get ready to start it up again if it does sit the whole month, do an oil change before you start it (will help get everything nice and lubed up again since it'll be all settled), and then start it up, and let it warm up nicely before driving off.

If your battery is drained, try that, though I doubt you need the oil changed. Then again, its cheap to do and won't hurt anything. If the battery sat dead for too long, you'll need anew battery.
My spitfire started right up after sitting for a little over a year with just a battery and priming the mechanical fuel pump. Though, driven or not, the coolant looked a bit dirty after sitting, stupid rusting cast iron blocks...

Leaving you car along for a month wont do anything, People with show cars dont start their cars for months at a time sometimes they dont change the oil everytime after letting it sit. How can the oil go bad if your not using the car for only a month? if anything you should be worried about someone stealing it. As for the battery i doubt it will go dead in a month.

After even a months time the oil will sink right to the bottom of the oil pan, leaving little to no oil lubricating the pistons, cylinder walls etc. The fear is that when starting it up like this you can slightly score/burn the cylinder walls with the metal to metal contact.
Battery is best to be taken out and left in a dry area. Depends on youtr battery though, some can go 1 mos. without any charge and fire right up.

Actually, rather leaving the car sit for a week or for a month, motor oil will still go all the way down to the bottom. The reason to change motor oil is that the motor oil mixed with moisture and becomes acidic which will harm metal. For just a month, I wouldn't worry so much. The best thing to do is start up the car at least once a week.
