I love those plugs I use them in my boosted ITR and they work bad ***. I had misfire problems at around 20 psi with stock but colder range plugs, put those in IK24's to be exact and bamm.. problem solved, hp gained

thanks guys... IK20#4 are the ones i just bought and you said the ones you had are IK24's... did i get the right ones???
iirc, iridum's arent made to last longer than platinums....
so if you are looking for a performance plug, have you considered something made out of copper?

Does a hog have a meaty ***?
IK20's is what I use. Made throtle response a little better.

I had Ik20's in my teg up until last week (had them in for the last 6 months) and found them excellent, i then fitted a set of Ik22 (heat range 7) and left the 0.8mm gap and found no difference whatsoever in both sets, the car still drives 100% and no pinking or anything. I tried the OE platinums by NGK and found them rubbish, the car lacked power big time in teh top end with them, i took them out after about 50miles of driving and sold them. The IK20's (heat range 6) i had in for 6 months were taken from my last teg and so had approx 25k miles on them. I highly recommend them as i can find no bad points with them at all.

thanks for being so helpful gt30typer but i just have one more question... are the plugs already gapped to the right specs straight from the box or do i have to gap them?
What about this from the link above:
"Some of you may or may not know this. But you are not supposed to check the gap on a platinum or iridium plug. Honda reccomends that you dont do this. My theory is that you will embed metal onto the plug which will effect its properties and performance. Just pull out of the box and install."
And this from Club Plug (http://www.clubplug.net/):
Should I gap my Iridium Plugs?
The manufacturers say NO.
This is because most people do not know how to properly gap a spark plug, and the center electrodes on the ultra-fine iridium can easily snap if mishandled. There is no warranty for snapped center electrodes. The manufacturers say an iridium spark plug will run so much better than a traditional plug, even if it is not gapped for that motor, that they would prefer you just leave it rather than risk snapping the center electrode."

I have NGK Iridiums on my NA R and the NGK website recommend gap at .044. Is that too wide or should I close the gap a bit?

From my experience i have found that just a set on NEW plugs is worth 5 hp. If you are going to a dyno take several sets and swap plugs with each mod because just a few start ups and the hp #'s will be different. A few months back we found a shop that had just opened up for business and was hungry we did a hp spark plug day and tried out sets of every thing you can imagine and found that the NGK Iridium and the DENSO Iridium Spark Plug made the same hp and beat out every thing else we tried. ( and we tried some high $$ stuff) We had over 22 pulls all with different plugs and just changing plugs is worth 5 hp.. Now when we race we load a new set in every time..
I will also recommend that every time a plug comes out that you put anti seize on the threads BEFORE you install a plug in an aluminium head.....

Ik20's come pre-gapped to 1.1mm (0.043") and Ik22s are gapped to 0.8mm (0.032") What i found with the Ik22s (0.8mm gap) is that when i measured the actual gap from the top of the electrode to the highest point in the V groove on the ground electrode, its exactly 1.1mm, so i just left them as they were and they run 100%.

It would run better with a 5 or 6 unless you are putting the squeeze into the picture. They will work but would not be the best, they will foul a bit
