Default Question about spring rates for my rubbing problem...

Now I have a 98 Prelude with 18" wheels and 35 series tires and they rub in the back with my neuspeed sport springs. I want to get ground control coilovers to play around with the ride height a little bit, but I've noticed that the ground controls can be ordered with certain spring rates. Should I get a custom set so that the ride is stiffer hoping that I wont rub in the back when I go over bumps, dips, etc.? If so, what springs reates would be decent?

I bet if you called ground control up you could ask them about it, see what they think or simply email them.

Putting stiffer springs on will not cure the problem, all you will be doing is stopping the rear arches coming down the side of the tyres and to do that the car would be that stiff it would be undriveable.

I have 18" wheels with 225/35 tyres and E45 offset wheels and no rubbing. Your offset might be wrong on the wheels in which case you would have to get the arches rolled to cure the rubbing.

There is a small tab at the top of the rear bumper where it meets the wheel arch, it is about 1/2" long and sticks out by the same amount. This is the first bit to rub, try cutting the tab off with a small hacksaw, this might cure the rubbing, don't worry about it as it's only plastic and can't be seen up inside the arch.

If that doesn't work then your offset is wrong and you'll have to get different wheels or arches rolled IMO.

+42-45 is most ideal for 5th Gen Preludes..

U may also want to consider getting 215 instead of 225 tyres.. which may be the source of ur rubbing.. especially at the rears..
