how long will my SVR 50 battery last with a 53amp load?
Well basically, I was wanting to know how long my SVR battery would last on a 53amp load since it is the max draw of my amplifier, not that I ever play it that loud for more than a few seconds... If it isnt too hard, I would like to be explained how I can figure this, and what it would be at half of that draw.
These the the "tested/rated" specs
Voltage 12
Reserve Capacity 90
Amp Hour 55
CCA* 600
Max Amps 1800
Length 9.30"
Width 5.50"
Height 9.25"
Weight 38lbs

well if its' 50ah capacity battery, that means it can support 50 amps of drain for one hour, If you draw 53 amp from it it will last 50/53's of an hour.
50 divided by 53
0.94 hours
.94 hours X 60 minutes
56 minutes
At half that draw, It would last twice as long, IN other words 50/26.5 of an hour or 1.88 hours. X 60 minutes
One hour fifty two minutes
This is till the battery is completely dead however, running it this long is bad for the battery not to mention your battery will be dead and you'll be stuck.

makes sense, but its a 55amp hour, with 90 reserve... I think I read something like it has 90amp hours left over after it drops below 10.2 or whatever that level is.
Can you explain to me the relevence of the reserve?

Hmm I dont' really know anything about the reserve capacity on batteries, All I know I learend from R/C vehicle batteries.
The other thing to conmsider is most songs dont' pull that much constant amps, Chirstmas songs (the slow ones) really take a lot becuase in the background they will have one solid bass note. Most songs thump these ones are no breaks just a solid bass note so it draws up to maximum amps the whole time. Where as the others will draw lots of amps only intermittantaly.
