Default installed pics of itr shift boot and more....

Well I thought I would snap a few pics of my little project today. Took about 30 minutes to put on my new shift boot and shift **** and I must say they look great! The skunk2 shift **** has such a solid weight to it, it makes shifting more easy and it is very confortable.

If you have any questions about the install I would liketo answer them. :D

Looks good . Does the boot stay up well, or does it slide down? The main reason I haven't picked up a shift **** and boot yet is because I dont like the look when the boot wont stay up. But that ***** hott

Edit: I completely missed the first picture, i guess that one answers my question about the boot staying up, haha, it still looks good though

if you get a rubber grommett or something to put under the ring on the top of the shift boot it will keep it from sliding down like that

haha looks exactly like my setup except the rod is black since i have a Lean short shifter and no skunk2 sticker. Looks good man You stapled the boot to the frame right? I just did that.

I have the same setup waiting to be installed.

How did you attach the boot to the prelude frame? I used a good staple gun and the staples would not penetrate. I ended up actually cracking the plastic

I'm thinking maybe drilling holes and using studs or something. maybe even a good CA glue would work at this point.

for the Skunk2 ****. its a godsend on cable-shifted hondas.

yea Ill soon have my lean short shifter. im about to trade someone local in a couple weeks.

my boot had those precut slits in the bottom of it and all I did was just slipped each one of slits over all four corners of the plastic piece.

held it in real tight. I know you may not know what im talking about but thats how I did it

everyone's probly gonna disagree with me on this but.. does that shift boot match anything in your interior? cuz if not i would say it looks kinda out of place in a prelude

my previous shift **** was a much lighter shift **** and I just didnt like the feel . I guess some of us like em heavier some dont, either way its just a shift ****

the skunk2 sticker was put there by my friend, the day before I stuck an aem sticker on the wing on his srt4 so when he saw the skunk2 sticker sitting in my room he made his move . dont worry its gone now, I removed it just after the photos

nope I dont have anything to match it, but in all honesty the red stitching is so subtle it really doesnt look that out of place

I've got the same setup... the ctr shift boot I ordered came with the civic mounting brace, I detached it from that, and then detached my stock boot from the staples in the stock mounting brace, then punctured holes in the CTR boot at the same place as the stock mounting brace's staples, then plugged the staples from the stock mounting brace into the holes I punctured into the ctr boot making a perfect fit... i absolutely love the feel of the skunk2 ****. got it for xmas.... I screwed the nut on, then with a wrench put the **** on until fastened tightly, but straight, then adjusted the nut beaneath to secure the **** tightly, straight-like. I don't have any color coded matching interior, but I agree the red stitching is very subtle and assure you it doesn't look out of place, if not barely noticeable in the first place...
