Default question about coilover sleves and stock struts

my 94 civic came with skunk 2 coilovers and i believe it has just oem replacement cheapo struts in it. the strut seems to travel about 2 inches further than the coil does when there is no load on it so basically there is no preload on the spring if the car bounces higher than the travel of the spring. i do realize this is because the car is lowered a little bit but is there any cheap remedies for this or should i just leave it alone? here's a pic.

sorry but you need koni or kyb agx.
oem won't do for lowered suspension setup. they will blow within time will tell.

and as for the stock struts blowing, they have been in there for a long time and are still fine. the previous owner lowered it in 2001 and he has never changed the struts in the 6 years he had owned the car.
thanks in advance,
dan

you could buy a longer spring and that would solve the problem.

well i could just crank up the coilovers and achieve the same thing but i'd rather leave it lowered.
