Default VTEC LAG?

Sometimes i will be driving....and i will be at about 6k Rpm....wheni gun it....(when in VTEC) it lags for a bit...it holds back...all of a sudden...starts going...Temp is at normal....nice and warmed up..anyone else have the problem?

it's cause of the throttle position and how much air you're sucking in..... i boubt you're realy in vtec.... when you're just at 6000rpm...... there are a few factors before vtec actually kicks in.. and thats probably the lag you're experinecing when you gun it when you're crusing at 6000rpm... it's getting the proper amount of air and then swapping from low cam to high cam.... it's normal.. but i'd have to actuallly see what it does to give you a definent answer... also depending on altitude... someties vtec doesnt' kick in till 6300rpm or so....

I have seen some that had aftermarket intakes like the aem stumble a bit before vtec before it took off. Although what 03s2kblue said sounds like the case.

yah i have the AEM v2.....i guess you guyz are actually right..it makes sense...obviously someone would have to inspect it....but for now..i think i am coool

w/ my car i really feel that there isnt really that much power under 6k. usually when i hit vtec thats when i start feeling the car move.
