iv'e searched and searched but i cant find any really helpfull information on how excactly to convert my bumper blinker lights so they always stay on but they also blink or how to switch the functions of the bumper lights with the corner lights.. does any one know of a good write up on how to do this? if not can anyone explain to me how to do this i would really apreciate it.. thnx

went to the junkyard today ... couldnt find the socket

You need to find a turn signal harness from a 92-00 Civic and the socket as well(you can get the sockets at Honda). I just did this to mine......

the civic signal harness has 3 wires (red, black, and green)


Cut off some your Accord signal harness and leave enough so you can connect the new Civic harness

Connect the wires accordingly and youll notice you have an extra red wire.

Splice open the positive connections on your corner lights

Run and wire from those positive connections in your corner lights to your extra red wire on the new Civic turn signal harness.

u don't really need to find a harnest. u can do this with 2 relay and speaker wires. it also make ur blinker faster.

thats the electrical systmes way of telling you, your fellow motorists, and the police that your have a burnt out bulb/short in the wiring

 

I want to do this also but I have the clear bumper lights (I know, I know) But anyone ever done this with the clear lights? If not I'll probably still try it.

i can use any turn signal from 92 -00 civic? from what i found i thouht it was 92-95? or i can use any one?

also Im going to get the parts from the junkyard so what do excactly need... just the turn signals in the corners and the bulb that comes with it?

Oh yeah it is just a 92-95 Civic that I got mine off of

You need the the wires with the connector on the end

You need the socket that you plug the connector too

The bulbs type will be 1157

 

haha sry but i just want to make sure i got this so when i go to the yard can i..

take out the corner from a civic and pull out the socket with the bulb and cut the wires...

 

its all good, yeah bulb, socket, connector, and wires, you need all those to do this mod

as for my other questin how to i get the bumper lights out?

 

u need a flathead screwdriver and a good eye ahha....

if you look on your lower grill look towards your bumper light and youll see a screw in there, just unscrew that and it comes right out....its a challenge gettin it back in but with time and persistence youll get it, usually takes me a few tries.....theres a little metal clip that is supposed to stay covering the hole (its on the body) youll see it when u remove the bumper lense....lose that and your screw doesnt stay in tight and could lead to your light falling out!

I got home from work tonight and decided to attempt the "bumper light trick". I just happen to have a junk civic in my yard so I used the civic corner harness and followed aZnAcCoRd02's directions. ( &lt;-Thanks man!) It took about an hour to complete. Very easy mod (if you have any wiring experience at all). Heres some results. Again, I have the clear front lenses... but it came out ok.

i know this is a bit OT....but since were talking about stock lights and such.....

last night when driving a buddy home ii noticed hi and low beams come from the same housing......or at least i could swear it seemed that way.....what do the center lights of the headloght do....CD's have 2 housings, the outer of which is a dual filament, high and low, correct??...then what is the middle?....and secondly, there are 2 bulbs in each, corner correct?

 

The highs and low do not come from the same housing... the housings on the inside are your high beams... next time get out of your car and check youll see .. the high beams dont have a cover over them so when you look throught the lense you should see just the bulb... and yea the corners have to bulbs.

lol... since you got me o/t with the lights yesterday my aunt parked next to mar car and she has an acura tl... and it almost looks exactly the same as my 96.. do they have the same headlights?

 

not neccesarily the same, but they are pretty much the exact came car

 

so the head lights arent the same demensions.. becuase i was wonder if i could put those headlights on my car when i looked they looked about the same size ..

Thanx for all the help i got the lights hooked up they looked great.. the hardest part was finding the harneses... at The first place i actually found them the guys wanted to chage me 40$ i was like no way... so i found some other junkyard and i found them myself.. all they charged was 5$!! what a steal.. so if your out there make sure you price around so you dont get riped off.. thanks a lot tho Every1...
