i know there is a way to make a civic a vtec - the mini-me swap - by changing the head to the vtec head and getting the vtec controller, along with a couple other little parts. is there a way to make a 4th gen si into a vtec without swapping out the whole motor? does anyone know of any websites or a definative yes or no? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Talk to Tom at ludespeed.com, he can machine a B20/21 block to accept a B16 head.

 

my friend doesn't have the 3rd gen b20/b21 - he has the 2.3 liter non-vtec 4th gen prelude. he was just curious if he could just change the head to a 2.2 vtec head and get the controller and have vtec.

 

It's not as simple as a VAFC and a head swap, but it's not hard.
