Honda Block Rebuild. Detailed Guide? Parts List? Cheap Ebay Distributor? SOHC!
Basically building a block to forged internals on the side. I really dont know what goes into rebuilding a Honda bottom end and I know there quite a bit diferent than the 350 I rebuilt last year.
Im just basically looking for some help on a pictorial guide on a completel bottom end rebuild/assembly
Maybe a parts list on all gaskets and **** thats needed. I know last year when rebuilding the 350 we missed a rear main seal and that woulda fucked the motor and cuased lots of ehadaches had it went unnoticed.
Anyone have a ebay distributor that sells these rebuild kits for cheap? Bearings...
I know its a broad topic, but hopefully help a a sohc D16A6 would be more useful to me
Thanks

Helms manual.
Probably the most useful thing i've bought for my car.
Used it to build a forged internal d16z6.
A must for any rebuild

Here's a valid question then.
What clearances, seals, gaskets, measurements, etc. are different when building a motor with forged aftermarket internals vs. an OEM rebuild?
Basically if they're all the same then a Helms will do?

aftermarket pistons will require different clearances. They should be provided with the the aftermarket pistons.
Afternarket rods usually like looser clearances than OEM.

That link is huge detail but its for a b series, but in the article he says this
"There is a few glitches that i have to fix, but all in all its a good article. The d-series is coming at the end of this coming week. A how to install a K-series into an eg chassis coming very soon as well."
D-SERIES!!
Is it possible to find the link for the d-series build? That would help me so much
Thanks for that link, I honeslty didnt know bearings were going to be such a hassle

If you read the whole article, some members point out the flaws. All mistakes have been accounted for already. He just didn't make the changes in the actual article. Piston to Bore clearance is one of the mistakes.
Sorry, I don't know if he actually did a D series build. Maybe someone else can chime in with the link, if it exists.
