I hear a squeeking...HELP PLEASE
Hello... well okay I changed my alternator on my 94 honda civic ex because the other one wasn't good anymore... everything seemed to be fine until it started raining... now i hear a loud squeek from my engine... sounds like it's coming from the alternator... it goes away when i'm going like 30 mph... but comes back when i slow down... or if im at a stop light... it's really loud and I don't know what's wrong or what I can do... can someone please give me advice... I KNOW I SEEM STUPID... but yea... thanks in advance...
Yeah probably the alternator belt. Mine squeals when it's cold, but after the engine warms up it goes away. I gotta find some time to fix it.
I used the same belt... should I have used a new one??? I wish it would stop when the car warms up but nope... only in the day time it's a lil quiet... ahh I need to take a day off of work to work on my car...

A new belt is probably in order just make sure that the pulleys are clean and free of grease when the new one goes on . If it still does it tighten it up a bit more , there should be around 10 mm of total belt diflection in the middle of the belt
