..I HAVE A 01 S2000 AND AM PLANNING ON INSTALLING A COMPTECH AFTERCOOLED SUPERCHARGER SOON...BUT AM IN THE MARKET OF PURCHASING HEADERS..SINCE ILL BE INSTALLING A COMPTECH SUPERCHARGER, SHOULD I JUST GO WITH THE COMPTECH HEADERS? ...SOME PEOPLE SAY MUGEN ARE BETTER...AND SOME SAY THAT SPOON ARE BETTER...I NEED HELP, PLEASE...
ok.. first.. not to burst your bubble or anything.. but it's header.... not headers...... but anyways.. yes you can go with a comptech.. but if i was you i'd go with a toda HEADER... it's proven to produce the most power with superchargers....
go with toda.. it'll give you the most power.... but if you want to stick with comptech get the comptech. but then get the comptech exhaust with it....

-5Zigen dual Fireball exhaust
-Tein Flex suspension with EDFC
...wanted to install header before i installed the Comptech supercharger...i might install a Spugen titanium single exhaust

A friend runs the spoon 4-2-1 header on his S2K. I'll just quote here what he said;
" Since I plan on staying in the VTEC range, Spoon's top end power design matched my needs more closely than the Mugens. Now take a look at the Spoon Header Design. Unlike the Mugen Headers. that "2" Section is extremely short. Originally designed ground up to be a straight out 4-1 Design the smaller 2 Section has been added to remove the deficiencies associated with a 4-1 Design. Dyno plots performed have shown quite an interesting power curve. Like the Mugen, there is a similar increase of low end power starting from 3000-5000rpm, the mid-range from 5000-7000rpm was same as stock and then there is some power increase again from 7000-8000rpm, but where the most power increases is from 8000-9000rpm where most gains are AFTER peak figure... From 8500-9000 where normal s2000s power start to fall right off, the power curve hangs on to the curve pattern all the way to redline. You can imagine its advantage in a race and drag situation where the car will mostly be in high rpm zone. "
On a rolling road dyno, his car put out 206whp (i'm not sure what the gains he got were, car is an early 99spec) . Other main mods are I/E.
Here is a pic of a stock vs spoon headers. Looks great.

i'd say stick with comptech if you are getting the comptech SC

think of it this way. they will all be excellent choices whether u go with spoon, toda, mugen or comptech. but . . . Comptech makes their parts to work together i.e. ud probablybe best off with Comptech.
I havent seen much evidence that a header makes much of a difference on a S/C. I can't see spending over grand on something that might increase my hp by only 5 or so. I thought Toda and Spoon stuff is designed for N/A?

spoon gives good top end (my reason for buying it, eventually)...toda is better for midrange and seems to do alot more than 5whp for FI cars
