Default Mission: Impossible (56k I dunno)

Well, here is the history. Project started January of 2004, When I bought a sleeved B16 block from my boss at Absolute Pro-Formance. With it, I got JE pistons, Crower rods, and everything else for the block. Assembly took FOREVER, and I didn't end up getting the car running and tuned until early in Decemeber. This is when things got wierd. I blew the cometic headgasket after the first "tuning session" and replaced it the same day with a stock honda gasket. 2 weeks later, after a 20psi pump gas street tune, i noticed coolant all over the engine bay, and all over the overflow bottle. I pulled the head that night, and took the head down to the machine shop for them to check for warpage. None. This is when i started scratching my head. I had my buddy from the machine shop come up to the garage and check the deck on the block for warpage, only to find out that I had sunk the 3rd and 4th sleeve. ****. Well, i got pissed off at the car, and ripped it apart with my friend Kyle (ricerocket12s). I am hoping to have my car back up and running by opening track day this coming season (sorta a friendly bet with my friend that I wont), and I am hoping that this doesnt come out to be another mission impossible. Here are some pics after ripping it down.

During the rebuild, we will be upgrading the fuel system, cooling system, and finding more ways to get the power to the ground, since traction on 20psi was next to impossible.

Sorry for the story, i was bored

Good luck man. At least you ran within a year of building it. Five years and counting for me!

in CA atleast, there are already now specific law enforcement units that look for hondas and are trained and taught everything about them..shitty man...they know what motor goes with what car and also what each car should not have...we're screwed...*******

and i believe it was all because of the people that decided to bring guns and knives to the "street races" and caused the violence

a cop told me himself..."we didnt care if you guys raced your cars, its when there started to be reports of stabbings and murders,we had to get invloved"

i just wonder how it will be in 5 years...

why is there a blockguard in there? is that a blockguard? never seen sleeves like those before...

it almost looks like the way we used to install our blockguards, weld it in and then deck it...what kind of sleeves are those?

My block looks the same as yours. same sleeves and block guard welded in. I havent had a problem with mine yet and they've held over 20lbs. I guess I've just gotten lucky or you've just had a string of bad luck. sorry. good luck
