Default Autopage-A scam!

Hi!!!

I just got an email from Autopage asking for 130.00 bucks for a single remote. Insane!!!!!!!!

Do not buy anything from them!!!!!!

How can you pay 130 for an alarm that did not cost me 90.

Contact me if you want to see the email that I received from them. A perfect scam!

My email is: joedr@joedr.com

I am changing my alarm starting this upcomming week!

Why is that a scam? Have checked prices for other brand's 2 way remotes ?

That is irrelevant!

Street price tag in Puerto Rico for the whole unit is around $130.00 w/o installation. And, that includes remote start, 2 remotes, the main unit and all the related sensors/relays (6 total) for less money than the remote itself.

For me that is a scam!

Imagine that you purchased a computer thru Dell and costs around $1500. Are you going to pay $1500 for the monitor or the CPU alone. I do not think so!

I do not know about the rest of the people but I still believe it is a scam and wanted to warn people before they decided to purchase anything. That is why the forums are all about.... to post information! I posted mine, please do an investigation before purchasing one of the fancy alarms.

no, it's not a scam... most electronics companies charge a hell of a lot for parts... have you ever tried to replace the remote to your television set? i'm talking the original remote... i needed one for a stereo and the cheapest i could find was about $20, and that was through a shady place...

i remember several years ago Consumer Reports did a story on the high cost of auto parts... they priced the price it would be to build a current model year ford explorer with parts through ford... the total was over $77,000... we're talking a truck that you could buy for a bit over $20,000...

to reiterate, this is NOT a scam, it's just the business practices of said company... you gonna call it a scam to go buy a used car for $500 and go to the dealership to buy a crate engine and the invoice is $8500? nope, you're not... you'll buy a parts car or go to a junkyard and get one... who cares if it's used? it cost a tenth of the price...

Some stuff is crazy my stereo remote for my house is $600.00

But a replacement car remote should not cost $130.00 that is a tad steep.

I vacationed in PR a couple years ago they said they had more women then men. Also said the local rum factory has a party every year where drinks are free. I got to go there more often
