dashboard dims sporadically, voltage 14.2 then 12.88
'94 accord ex vtec
when i drive the car with alot of stuff on (wipers, lights, heat, radio), after 30-45 minutes the car seems like its losing its electricity. The dashboard will dim, the engine (when at a stop) will act as if its going to die.
After a few seconds, i've got full power again, than it cycles again. its seems to happen sooner when its damp outside. but even when its dry it will do it in about an hour. if i'm at a stop and push on the accelerator then it stops.
honda dealer said alternator and battery is fine, that it was cables. ok, so I buy genuine honda cables, but the problem still continues.
what do you think?
1. bad alternator/voltage regulator?
2. bad battery?
3. ecu/ecm?
4. other?

Id say 1.
I believe the volt reg is built in to the alternator (i could be wrong) so you may want to have autozone test the alt. All free.
