getting rid of hydro tranny...
Ok im thinking about going cable tranny on a 92-95 civic. Anybody got any whys to why this would be an bad idea? The main reason i wanna go cable 1 cheaper 2 the pedal seems stiffer 3 i loved my cable tranny in my ls 89 hatch. Besides all the american cars use cable trannys till this day don't they? But im just wondering what ups and downs will i be looking at... thanks in advance guys

Yes, they also use the oldest technology for the rest of their cars too.
trying to get rip of hydro tranny for cable is like saying swapping a 10000rpm VTEC engine for a OHV, then swapping the double wishbone susp for dead axle.

why would you want a stiffer feel of the clutch? that just baffles me.
if thats what you want spend the 300 bucks and getta cermetallic exedy three puck clutch.

Upside may be that cable trannies are cheaper, downside is they're getting pretty old and hard to find. If you want a stiffer clutch feel do as stated above and just buy yourself a nice clutch.

y would u want to switch anyways? r u getting out of having a "stiffer clutch" first off.. its a pain in the ***... they are harder to find, and u are really not going to benefit from them. get a really stiff clutch like stated above .

Thanks for the straight to the point answers guys. I guess ill look into a stiffer clutch, my current stock one feels to soft. By the way the real reason i asked was because i was trying to find a cheap way around paying 2200 for a b series swap
Hydro's always cost more then cables. thanks for the responses guys

just a side note* the stiffness is not what most people think who have never driven a b cable tranny.its not like its driving a 1965 chevy pick or anything ,its a better feel.if you need it hasport makes conversions. http://www.hasport.com but as was stated earlier they are hard as **** to find.
