The best car I ever owned, in almost 5 years of driving not a single problem. If it wasn't for the 2 a$$holes that smashed into it and the other 2 that stole it. Put some serious security and you'll be happy with it. And I would think Florida isn't as bad as the North East and Cali with the theft problems.

Integras are nice cars. Definately a step up from Civics and Del Sols and the like.

The only gripe I got about my GSR is probably the condensation in the headlights. But then, I just need to pull em and reseal them. If you get one, aim for a low mileage one and it should last you a long time.

Regular maintenance is key ie. fluid changes, valve adjustment, cap n rotor, belts, clutch, etc. GET ONE

No man these cars are very reliable and hardly give you any problems if you do your regular maintenance. If your buying a used one it could be 50/50 because it could most probably be raced out especially by those people who have leased it and people who plan to have it for a short period of time.

well, i'm not sure on the newer models, but i got a 94 gsr, and there's the driver side window rattling, tail light leaking water into the trunk, and the heat shield/ header buzzing at a certain rpm. those seem to be pretty common. but other than that, it's a great car, and i too have a problem with looking at it, and wanting to sit in it all day. then there's always the recurring nightmares of it being stolen :S love the car though

i had a 98 GSR, and i LOVED IT!! i ran into a couple problems though...well, more like annoyances

-small cup holders
-TALL A$$ antenna that makes a lot of noise goin up or down
-my car was black, so i was washing it/ waxin about twice a week so she can stay sexy

but other than that, no major problems. jus do regular maintenance, and try not to drive her tooooo hard all the time. Good Luck on shopping!!!

GS-R's= No recalls, great cars, very smooth acceleration and engine noise.
My 98 has 148k miles and is still riding on the stock clutch. The car runs like new and I couldnt be happier with her. Only problem is that I can't stop looking at her and making sure she's still in the garage (pretty common here).

for GS-Rs

all this talk about looking at your cars all day. I too have that problem, i look at my car all day, slowly being covered in snow, as it is parked for the winter. Slowly tears roll down my cheeks as the snow hids the Laguna Seca paint, the JDM front end, and my beautiful Buddy Club P1 acing IIs. "OH THE HUMANITY"

Cant wait for spring, she'll be out and screaming!!!

Yeah, I bought my '00 GS-R used from a dealer. It was a lease return, and I'm finding that she was probably raced out. I ended up replacing my clutch at less than 50k (long story), and found out it was burned a good deal. The exhaust tip is scraped up really bad, and I've never even touched it so it leads me to believe the car was lowered. I went to put in a new stereo and found out that someone had already been there (rounded screws, missing screws, non-stock bolts, gouge marks on the plastic). Granted, some of this you can't know until it's too late, but in retrospect, I think maybe I should have bought from a private seller so that I could at least talk to the previous owner. Yeah, my car was certified, but I have no way of knowing how the last owner treated her. Just be extra careful about checkin out the car before you sign.

But, still, I love my car. I'm obsessed and paranoid. I'll walk a couple extra minutes to park away from other cars.

Yea what he said. Gotta keep a good eye on your car, that's why I made a good long term investment in a Pitbull for my occasional trips into the city.

-rear hatch open indicator light was busted.. and traced back to the trunk hatch opening switch mechanism not functioning (rear trunk light would not turn on at all due to this problem)

-my windows used to rattle when i closed the doors.. this was due to a rubber track that fell off of the window guide that we had to re-glue back on track.. fixable but u wouldnt know what is wrong until u open up the door and find the little rubber strip in the bottom..

-check the front windshield to make sure it is the original glass.. if it has been changed assume it has had a front end accident or was previously totalled.. deployed airbags will shatter the front windshield...

-park in well lit areas where people travel past constantly. when i dormed.. i used to park my teg next to the parking lot stairs and never on the street.. never had any attempts.. its when u park them in the shady far away spots.. u either get door dents or a stolen car.. u choose..
