quick question on alt-battery relations
Ok, If my car is supposed to run fine without a battery once it is started...
How come I had dim internal and external lights, as well as rough idle/acceleration with my tested bad stock battery (going on 6 years old now)
And when I replaced it with a nice SVR 50 12.. Lights are bright bright, internal consols have never been more lit up, and I dont remember my car ever feeling so responsive and smooth.
I swear, its like replacing the battery gave my car a new life... So what is the correlation between the alternator and battery... if the battery is bad... does that bottleneck the power my car gets constantly?

well the car can run with just the alternator however it is not reccomended this causes the alternator got be working 100% all the time. sometimes the alternator can't handle trying to charge a dead battery and power everything in the car. the battery also helps to absorbs voltage spikes and will keep the lights from flickering. before you probrally wern't getting enoughf power to the fuel pump, ignition system and the computer for the car to run at its full pontential
