engine id numbers
My engine says b20a3 on the block but as far as i can tell from what i have read on the net the b20a3 is a sohc carb engine and mine is a dohc F/I. Did honda make a b20a3 dohc f/i or did somebody swap out my head. I know someody had a post on here wiht all the eninges but i searched and can't find it.
You can put a B20a5 head on a b20a3 block, so yeah that's what someone probably did - and it's not a fun swap, so youre lucky...Your best off looking up your VIN, then tell me and I'll tell you if it's an S model or Si model...or if you can tell then that should help you.....
I don't know the vin this motor came out of a 88 and is now in my 87.I know the block says b20a3. The head already been swaped out isn't going to make it harder for me to change the valves is it.

No, you just have to get the valves that fit the head you have, do not get b20a3 valves because you probably have a b20a5 head, or maybe a b21a1 head....
