Default Tranny Fluid for 2002 Civic DX M/T

Hey Guys,

I know this question has probably been asked to death but after I did a search all I came up with is tranny fluid for a CRX and Prelude. Anyways, I was planning on swapping out my gf's tranny fluid on her 02 Civic DX M/T at the same time I did my swap on my 350z. I have no clue as to what viscosity, brand, etc of tranny fluid is recommended. On my Z I plan on using Redline fluid but wasn't sure if it would work fine for her car. Her car has a little bit of whine and some notchy shifts so what is a fluid that would smooth it out a bit? Also, does anyone have a chart of what the fluid capacities and recommended fluids are for whole car (engine/tranny/differential/etc)?

Thanks a bunch guys for helping the Nissan dude! :D

Thanks for the input. I dont know about OEM I wanted something that would smooth out the tranny and I dont think OEM would be up to snuff. What kind of viscosity does it come from the factory? And about the mobil.. Does it smooth out your shifts? Why do you recommend it?

Thanks

oem is was made specifically for your car. Lots of people like that GM synchromesh stuff which costs around 24 bucks a quart i think.

Do you not have the owners manual for the car? as it's only an 02? It will have capacities and viscosities right in there. Redline MTL is fine in the Honda and so is Honda MTF but I know for sure that GM Synchromesh FRICTION MODIFIED works extremely well in a notchy or grinding transmission.

but for such a new car to have problems such as grinds is kinda odd at this early stage.

Most likely driver abuse to the tranny.
