Default Question about door wiring

I was wondering if it was possible to add a courtesy light to the doors, if there is existing wiring I can tap into or something?. I'm new at this, so I'm not sure if this can be done easily. Maybe a sensor in the door that I can tap into? The car is a '97 gs-r. Thanks in advance.

Anyone? A diagram of the door would help too, does anybody have one? Thanks again

You could always tap from the roof/ceiling lights.

Run it from the roof under the ceiling material, then through the A-pillar, then to the door? Is that difficult to do?

The trigger that triggers the dome light is actually a negative trigger. I think there is already a 12V source in the door (for switches, windows, etc) and i know that the negative door trigger can be found in the driver kick panel. you can find the color code on the12volt.com . I wired some CCFL under the dash of the passenger and driver so that it would light up the floor when the door opens using that trigger wire.

Thanks for the info guys, but I just wanted to get one thing clear for me. Are both pass. and driver side door triggers in the driver side kick panel? Or if there's only one triger then both courtesy lights will light if one door is open right? TIA

the trigger wire in the driver kick activates when any of the doors are open.
