Default grounding

I'm contemplating getting a grounding kit... thers seems to be limited post on them although there are a few. Have most people had good results (throttle response and start-up)?. I'm guessing it would void warranty right? And do the bolts the wires attach to need to be torqued or is hand tightend gogin to be good enough?

I helped review one of TommyGuns kits a long time ago.. yes, it was worth it in regards to throttle response and startup.. I'll probably do my current H2 prepped ITR when I wire my kill switch..

It should not void the warranty, and all connection points can be hand tightened(assuming you don't use a point that is typically torqued)..

I seriously doubt you'd recoup the weight penalty of 1 lb of wire. I mean, really, what do you expect a grounding kit to do for you, and how do you expect it to accomplish that?

I will go so far as to say, start up and throttle response cannot be affected by a grounding kit, unless you have a serious grounding issue with the OEM straps (and your car would continuously run like ****, and you couldn't get your stereo to stop whistling, and when you turn on your headlights your car dies. Like that.)

To clarify whether or not you would benefit from a grounding strap, start your car and measure the VOLTAGE difference between the points that you'd consider attaching the grounding kit to. You will probably see less than a tenth of a volt difference between any of your existing grounds. That tenth of a volt isn't going to help you much, anywhere. Plus, it's likely going to be significantly less than a tenth of a volt.

it actually does help, Chris.. although it showed negligible gain in real power on the dyno..

(edited my previous post)

Tell me what points it attaches to, I'll measure the voltage between those points.

If there's a significant voltage difference anywhere along those existing grounds (motor/chassis/battery) I will post this picture in a stand-alone post and say "What a jackass I am! Look at my picture!"

battery to each of the following: rear of block, alternator, starter, and intake manifold(at the throttle cable bracket)..

i'm interested to see what your measurements come back with, but i am certain of the difference in throttle response and startup that occured in my old R.. it'd be funny for you to pose like that guy though..

Renewing/reconditioning the stock wires does the same. Been there done that.
