Default Is this normal? wire harness picture...

This is my wiring harness that leads to the ECU from the right side of the dash. Does this look normal for a stock wiring harness? Im a little confused about the gray and black taped wires(disregard the cut orange wire). For instance, some of the gray taped wires appear to have a couple wires taped together, but only one of the wires actually leads to the ECU connector and the others are routed back up into the harness attached to other wires. I dont notice any open connections on the harness connector so I cant tell if some of these wires were cut and taped/routed back into the harness or if this is how its supposed to be?

**add orig.jpg for the bigger size

Damn, that's nasty. Mine doesn't look that nasty with tape. I guess not many people like to use a heat gun and some loom.
