Default P2P Tuning

I have an auto 2000 ex d16y8 with a p2p ecu. I am not going for a tranny swap like every other site has told me to do. I want a nice ride, daily driver, kinda fast, handles well...anyway.

Heres my dilemma. I will within a month be at the point on my build where i will need to tune my car. I want to tune the ecu to get some extra horses, and change the shift points on my auto. Problem is my car is OBD2b.

I really dont know much about ecu tuning, noe enough to go uberdata. I want to be able to tune it without swapping ecu's and hopefully cut out getting a OBD1 harness (but will if its a must).

My setup is this (once done):
AEM SRI
wicked tuning header
custom 2.25 catback
Si TB bored to 66mm
OBX im (or Edlebrock...but think Edlebrock is kinda pushing it for a mild build)
AEM FPR
AEM FR
AEM Cam gear
Omnipower valves, Cam, Springs, Retainers
p+p, 3 angle valve job, milled, balanced crank
unorthodox underdrive pulley
Level Ten torque converter and transmission oil cooler

Im thinking of keeping it simple and grabbing a VAFC2. BUT, i want to be able to change the shift points to get better acceleration and change the rev limiter.

What are your suggestions on tuning the ECU? Please no comments on swapping engines or trannies, i wil do neither. Oh, and if you have any suggestions on mods list go for it.

All this and you will still prolly get smoked by a five speed. First swap it to 5spd. Then don't get TB is too much money if you ask me just get a regular TB, Y8 IM is pretty good as it is, no need for FR (waste of money), cam gear is not needed without a cam and tunning going with it. BTW do you really wonna rev y8 that high? Their oil pumps suck you will be lucky not to spin a bearing once you get past the stock rev limit.

Ok, again I wont be doing a tranny swap, and this is a daily driver not a race car. Next.

why are you putting all this BS on it. Get over it and swap it to manual it's not that hard.

AS I said before half of the BS you are putting on the car will yeild you 0 hp.

5 speeds are daily drivers. but if you change the clutch to a high power [ie act] then it can be classsified as racing [for some people]

How about you just say screw all that and throw on a JRSC? That will get ya some more HP and keep your car low key.

I dont know much about the Auto honda trans, but im sure it could take a little more power.

i think you should research more before you do anything or you will regret spending money on things you didn't need

"OBX im (or Edlebrock...but think Edlebrock is kinda pushing it for a mild build)"
don't talk yourself into something cheap like that...then you're gonna put valves balanced crank and all that stuff like i said...do more research. I'm not trying to be mean at all here just being honest with you.

I got to say a big waste of money. You are saying that it's not a race car, right? Why the **** are you wasting money for emanage then. It sucks anyways if you ask me.

If you want tunning, get obdI conversion harness and run uberdata.

Once you get info and experience on how to chip/tune obd2 ecu's remember to post em up and keep us updated!

I think your best bet is to save up money for a JRSC for that automatic. Most mods would probably give you the same gains, but good luck on finding mods that will try to save you some power instead of losing it to your automatic transmission.

Good luck and happy new years.

And also, OBD1 + uberdata is great. I never heard of anything about tuning honda's automatic ecus to change shift points and etc. Once again, be sure to share that information once you find it.

in the Uk, auto trannys are looked on as (and i beleive this really is the trade term) crap

NOBODY, who's into cars over here would even entertain using an auto tranny.

if it's a daily driver, then you'll want the added fuel aconomy of a 5 speed
