Things to look for when getting a 2nd gen integra?
A guy at my wifes work is giving away for FREE a 90 integra LS. He said it just needs a cat-back exhaust and a water pump.
what else should I check for when looking over the car? I don't want to take a free car and be stuck having to put shitloads of money in it to get it running and on the road.
How much will a waterpump be?
Thanks

it's free, but..
1. I live in an apartment so I have no where to keep it to work on it.
2. I don't have cash to dump into another car.

Depending on your morals, you could take it free and sell it as a shell for a little cash. Everybody loves a project car. If I were you I'd just take it and figure out the rest.

I have a 90 LS too that I bought about 6 months ago. It's got about 193,000 miles on it now and it runs great, but I have put in alot of money and work into it. I had to buy a new alternator as soon as I drove it off the lot for about $150, an oil change using Royal Purple and Wix for about $20, fuel filter $15, air filter $5, aftermarket plugs and wires $75, and the distributer went dead about 2 months later $200 + cap and rotor $20. The brakes also needed changing and the back calipers were rusted up which was all in all about $200. Other than that, the belts and hoses need changing but are still ok. It's worth it if you love the car. If it's just a beater, than you may not want to spend all the money just to fix it. If you plan on fixing up the car, its well worth it. The looks and compliments I get from people was well worth all the money I've put into it.

G2's have problems with water leakage...check the truck and passenger side floor under dash for wetness, then check at same spot under car to see if any rust holes have accumulated.... could be serious money pit.
