EG Stereo install-please help a noob!
I'm a huge audio noob, I just installed my new deck and Polk front component speakers in my Civic EG hatch. Hid the crossover, all went well, it sounds good. I want to put some 3.5" speakers in the dash vent area at the top of the dash(for a pseudo centre channel), is this possible? How do I take that vent out? Will I need to use a cap & coil setup when driving these speakers with the deck? I have a Jensen(crap?) crossover unit, should I run them through that? Any other suggestions on where to put them?
Also my hatch is a 95 CX, it didn't come with rear speakers, I have a set of Polk 4x6's and Polk 5x7's and I'd like to use them, but I can't for the life of me figure out where to put them, I don't want them in my cargo cover because I'm always putting stuff back there. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
One last question, anybody know how to replace power transistors in a Rockford Fosgate Punch 45.2 or have a schematic? I bought one off ebay, but it's blown, and I opened it up to see 2 of the trans. burnt, is this fixable? I can't read the numbers off them, anybody know?
Thanks
D.

A center ch. in a car would normaly be just one speaker, [midrange] and would be a mixed mono of the left and right front ch. and may not be doable with todays HUs without a center ch. processor, with its own amp. and installing a pr. of speakers in the center in stereo will probably mess up the image so bad that its not worth it. On your car I think the rear speaker location is just above the rear seat arm rests, [behind the removable trim panel] if the car came without rear speakers then it came without speaker grills or speaker mounts but the speaker wires are run, because there are no mounts you will have to make your own, so you can make them to fit whaever speaker you want, [stock are 6.5"] the speaker grill is another matter, in cars that came with speakers in the rear, the grill was part of the trim, [above arm rest] you have a "dummy" trim, [no grill] you could make grills out of them, pop them off and you will see what I mean, [they are just "cliped in"]

I did run the centre channel off off the rear speaker outputs and it sounds quite good. Unfortunately my ebay infinity speakers included 1 blown 1 so I'm snafud there. The CX never came with rear speakers but I'm happy to see that the wiring is supposed to be there. I think I'll fab some speakers mounts from MDF and put them in th efactory location. Thanks.
