what is the cheapest way to get about 250hp or more for a 96 accord lx
I was thinking of doing H22 swap but I've heard they arn't relible with a turbo with out doing alot to it

Something I've learned since I start messing with cars is you have to pay to play
....Then once you play you end up paying more to keep fixing, haha. If your looking for cheap horsepower, I think most people agree that Nitrous is the cheapest way to go. That will push your horsepower to around 185-190 at the max. Once around those numbers any further is pushing it. But if you still crave the 250+. I would say swap in a H22a motor, and put simple bolt-ons like (Exhaust, Intake, Header) Then look at the ECU . I think a lot of people or (ricers) over look the ECU and dont realise what good tuning can produce out of a engine. Add in a good clutch and your set. And if you reallly want to shave your 1/4 time begin to strip weight out of your Accord. (spare tire, back seats, passenger seat, heater core, A/C)
I believe you could hit 240-250 with a h22 w/ bolt-ons ECU w/ good tuning. Turbo charging isnt always the way.
Raising compression
need I say more ....hahahah
Good luck...
