Head Gasket & torque information needed for D16A6
Ok I searched but I found to much conflicting information so im going to ask and see what response I get..
What is the new sequence and torque specs when installing a new headgasket. I have the honda shop manual with the specs BUT i remember that a TSB was issued for a new sequence with new torque specs. Does anyone know what those are?
Also does anyone know the part number for the metal headgasket from the d16z6? I guess thats the better one to use then the A6 gasket.
Thanks,
Mig
PS. In case anyone is interested its TSB # 97-047 regarding the headgasket issue.

Can you copy and post the info here from the TSB? I never heard of this before, and rebuilt my motor using the sequence and everything from my manual

Service Bulletin Num : 97111097047 Date of Bulletin: NOV 10, 1997
NHTSA Item Number: 54041
Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE
Summary Description:
PROBLEMS WITH HEAD GASKET LEAKS. TORQUE TO NEW SPEC"
I called two different independent shops for information on this, both confirmed the TSB but would not tell me in detail what it was about.
Thats why Im asking for help on how to get more information on this.
