Got my ITR exhaust Installed but i have some fitment issues (56k go get something to drink) ....
Well the installation of my T1R exhaust went good, no problems there. When i started her up i noticed this tapping noise the seemed to be coming from right behind my center console. It would happen at idle and when i would start moving it would go away. It would also go away when the car got warm. When i jacket up my car i found that where the two b-pipes come together (right before it curves to go to the axle back) it sits really close to the wall. I am guessing that it is vibration and tapping the wall. I tried to move it to get it away from the wall but it won't budge. I still have the stock header and cat, if that means anything.
You guys have any ideas on what to do? Is this a common problem or is it just my luck?
thanks, here are some pics...

BFH. Or play around with the hangers a bit? Find the macro button on your camera?
But it seems like a not to uncommon problem in regards to fitment and T1R exhausts. Some tend to be really good and some not so good.

I bought a T1R bpipe. It rattles against the heat shield just as you described. I have had my car up on jack stands for the 3rd time tonight trying to bend the hangers just so...
From earlier chatter, it seems as though the consensus is to remove all or certain heatshields in order to avoid the rattle.
Doesn't seem like it's rattling against the heat shield in that picture but the tunnel itself.

I am still trying to figure these pics out.

Ok i resized the pics, i took off the heatshields so that isn't the problem. The problem is that it hits the side of the wall so it makes a taping noise. Hopefully you can see that now in the pics.
There's a couple of places that the T1R bpipe can hit. 1st is the pic you have. 2nd is the where the muffler bolts up to the bpipe. It's hits the under body.
To solve this, you're going to have to bend the rear most hanger left or right. This hanger is at the end where the muffler bolts up. Unfortunately, this hanger adjusted too high also seems to hit the small bracket that holds the rear metal brake line. On my car, if that part hangs too low, then the pipe to the muffler hits the LCA. It's something that needs the exact bend, or so it seems.
Good luck.

well i fixed it, i had to bend the hanger on the muffler and that lined the pipes up propperly. The only thing that i don't like it that the muffler doesn't sit straight in the little cut out in the back bumper. Oh well i could care less now that the tapping noise is gone.
looks like its hitting the tunnel. if you play with the hangers that will likely fix it or atleast make it more bearable. Ive had to do this numerous times. Mine would hit in the back over the rear LCA
Adjust the hangers...or buy stiffer rubber/different mounts.
Sounds like you fixed it though.
