the interior hood release lever is broken (the cable is still there) and I can't get the hood open. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the hood open? What parts would I need to take off, where to jam a screwdriver? something like that.

The car is a 1987 CRX.

 

so just the plastic pull arm is broken? try getting a pair of needle nose vise grips and pull on the cable end itself.

 

Ok, that's what I thought. I had been tugging on that, but it seemed like it wasn't moving. I just want to make sure I'm tugging on the proper thing so I don't break stuff further than it already is.

 

I ran around with my car like that for about 4 months before I finally got another cable and ran it... People always wondered about the pliers on the dash....
