RSX rear brakes?
Is there anything special or weird to be aware of when I change the pads on my 02 RSX base? The dealer wants $275 for labor/pads/turn rotors. I'm planning on just doing the pads myself, as if it were my civic or integra...
Anything weird/special to be on the lookout for?

It might have the type of caliper piston that you have to turn back in. Those are a bitch to do unless you have the right tool. Im not sure but know the integra rear brakes are like that so theres only one way to find out.

I just did the same thing on Sunday. **** what the dealer wants. If your rotors are good you dont need em resurfaced. If you do, go to Pep Boys, they charge 8 bucks a rotor, so not bad at all.
The front is super easy. Just two nutts and you can get to the pads. Get a screw driver and press the cylinder back in and you are good to go to reassemble.
The back requires a lil more force and wigglin around to get the caliper off. Once you do its straightforward also. Make sure you release your hand brake. To get it back in there, DO NOT TRY TO PUSH THE CYLINDER IN!! You actually turn it back in. When you look at it you will understand. Once i figured this out it was cake.
Thats about it. These cars are super easy. Goodluck.

I just turned mine back with flathead screw driver. No special tools are needed for the RSX base.

I went to Honda once for a 96 Civic rear drums. The ******* says 150$ to TURN (not replace) the rear DRUMS. I found 40$ online for new ones, and napa will do each drum for 13$ a piece to turn em.
In other words, screw the dealership. Search for the rear calipers, it takes a wrench attachment that isnt required. the piston sort of spirals in, which with a sort of wide *** flathead screwdriver (some use the edge of the brake pad) to get it in. Spend 65$ for a Helms manual. These are really not too hard to do.
