modifying spoon N1 axelback question!
ive been looking for a spoon N1 muffler for an EK hatch, but i cannot afford the brandnew ones. i bought one for a sedan... and i know it wont fit properly unless i chop a few inches of the piping - my question is if i take so of the piping out and re-weld it, will it change the performance/sound?
btw - im not going to touch the welds where the pipe meets the canister - im planning to cut it after the welds..
thanks!

unless you know how to do exhaust work i sugjest you take it to a muffler shop. i had the back portion of a greddy evo2 and a local shop made me a whole cat back all the way to the muffler for 80.
It doesnt effect it. I had to modify my apexi n1 to fit on my hatch because it was made for a coupe and didnt fit right. Seriously, its not that hard to do exhaust work as long as you have the bends and a friend with a welder. Hell, I am only 17 and I am making cat back's out of nothing but straight sections and mandrel bends.
I modified my Spoon N1, about 2 inches, to tock it better under the bumper. I cut it right after the mid pipe to axle pipe flang, and welded the flange back up. I then had to bend the hangers to fit it right, but sounds the same and looks better!

IMO it sound like **** anyways so you don't have to worry about the sound.
Perfomance shouldn't be affected unless your friend welds like ****, which I seen many people do.
personal something not loud like WS or custom with a magnaflow.
