Tranny will not lock up... Please help
I have 90 Accord EX ;2D;Auto
When outside temp. is less than 40*F my torque converter will not fully lock up , and if I drive on interstate I have to rev the engine up to 3200 RPM just to go 70 MPH ( it depends if I pull some hill or not).
Yet if I put carboard up front of my radiator to cover it about 50-60% (do not want to overheat engine) it works fine.I had the same problem last winter, no problems at all in summer.
I replaced fluid 2x -no change.I replaced temp.sensors (3 of them) - no change.
I replaced lock up actuator -no change.
I can drive for 2 hours on interstate and it will not lock up unless it is warmer outside tempr.45-55*F. It does not matter if I have it in S mode or normal mode.
Other than that it shifts fine regardless of outside temp.
Is that normal on these models ???
