Default piston rings question

i need to replace my rings, should I just go oem and buy them from the dealer or are the ones they sell at kragen/autozone/pepboys any good? anyone with experience with these? thanks.

Also is there anywhere I can get a set of rings for 4 pistons cheap?

and will these work?

Well, I have had good experience with rings from Autozone and Advance Auto as far as rings for my boat motor. Never did thelower end on any of my Acuras.

I would check with the E-BAy seller before bidding because I thought the engine was 1.8 L, he has it listed as 1.6 L, so I woul dbe careful.

Good Luck.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by the dood selling the rings &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">These are the exact piston ring for your car. All the B engines in US market Civics & Integras have an 81mm bore & the same piston ring design. The displacement variations are from the stroke & compresion ratio (piston or combustion chamber) differences. B16's the not so common in the US market are sigificandly different from the common D15/16 engines that are common to most Civics.
Thanks,

So what do you think, should i try them? that price is for a set for all four pistons

It doesn't say what they are made out of and what kind of oil control ring they are using. If I were looking at buying rings and didn't want to pay OEM prices I would be looking at certain brand names. Like hastings, total seal, or even speed-pro. I don't know about Nippon racing though.

well i did a little research on 'nippon piston ring co.' (NPR), and they actually are an original equipment supplier of a lot of import auto companies, including honda and toyota.

I'm asking the seller lots of question about em and they sound legit. Plus someone has to try these out and get some feedback sometime right? I know it's taking a risk, but I'll see what happens, might benefit any of us.

I also looked up 'hastings' rings like sack master said and they have pretty good prices also, so I'll also look into those.
