Default Cheapest place for Honda filter?

I finally used my last oil filter that I purchased 5 years ago. The local Honda Stealership had them for $3.99/each. (So I bought them in bulk) Unfortunately management has changed (several times since) and they are no longer offering that deal.

So now I am looking for the cheapest price/place for Genuine Honda Oil Filter. I change my oil filter frequently, so I dont need or want anything better; ie. HAMP, Mugen, Mobil, K&N, etc.... (Unless the better filter costs cheaper than Honda OEM Oil Filter)

Cheapest I found so far (internet) is hondapartssource.com for $4.72/each (With $2.95 handling charge; Shipping cost is 10% of total costs; No TAX)

S2K filter Part # 15400-PCX-004

My buddy at Acura gave me a good deal on them;

Of course I can get them. They normally run 8.52 each, but with your ultra low low McDavid Acura price, you pay only 5.89 each!!!!! Thats a 30% savings!!!! Let me know how many you would like.
Thanks,
Steve

It doesn't really matter how quickly you change the filter, a cheap filter medium is a cheap filter medium, & the USDM Filters don't have the bypass valve. The Better filters like OEM JDM, HAMP, Mugen, Mobil1 etc all have Bypass valves in them so that when the oil pressure gets too high it can bypass the filter medium so that it can get to the internals quicker. They all use a much better filter medium as well.

Definitely not anywhere in Germany. Went and purchased some MTF today and spent 12.47 Euro a liter, then a sixteen percent sales tax on top of that. Man my ******* hurts.

I am not looking for filters with cheap mediums that are found in the lower quality filters, thats why I am looking for OEM filters.

OEM filter medium does the job and all that is required from Honda and me.
I understand what you are saying about the better medium filters out there. But its not economical to purchase the better filter mediums found in the expensive filters when the OEM filter does the job. (Enough that people have gotten super high mileage out of their motors; before all these "better medium filters" were even made) I change my filter frequently and one of the "sales pitch" of the better filters are longer oil change intervals.

One thing that I didnt know was/is that the OEM filters dont have the bypass valve? All the OEM ones I used before have the bypass valve. Is the new ones dont have it? I thought Honda specifically said to use a filter with a bypass valve; but they dont have it on their own filter?

Also, has Honda changed all the filters now to the RSX type filters?

Crap, I used to have a place online that got them to me for 5 bucks shipped per filter...

It used to be http://www.honda-parts-dealer.com but that site doesn't work anymore. All I remember is it was a Honda Dealership in Georgia...damn, I gotta remember who it was...

1) The ITR came with the better Toyo Roki made Honda Filters when bought new from the dealership. Also they use the same Filter on the S2000 Over the US filter due to the filter being that much better.

2) Old ones might have, I know one of the old ones I have here doesn't have one. New Honda ones do not have it, Only one you can get from a Honda Dealer that would have it would be the S2000 Toyo Roki made filter (Which is also still the bigger size)

3) Yes, Honda switched to a one size fits all filter.

I've never really paid attention to the importance of an oil filter (always used what Acura parts had). With that said, can someone list what oil filter/s ITR owners should be using (best valued oil filter and functionality). Thanks.

Filters I'd reccomend using (For any Honda/Acura)

HAMP $7-9
Toyo Roki Honda Filters $7-10
Mobil 1 $10-13

There are others out there that are very nice and do the job as well but they are a bit more than I would pay for a filter, Filters like K&N, Mugen, etc.
