Any new info on concept 2005 crx?
Well im still trying to find new info all i seem to get is the old article the old insight that people thoiught was the new crx( that looks pretty sweet tho) then that UGLY *** thing they said could be the new crx. If i could only find a way to email honda i would. I mean this should be like the corvette. When they went to the new corvette they didnt lose old corvette owners why? because it still has that same type style but a better look. I think the crx should be the same so they dont lose the crx inthusiasts intrest by doing some crazy new design on the body. Thats where the crx go its name!
Anyway I KNOW this isnt no repost and i know people get flammed for the 05 crx posts but im not saying OH LOOK EVER SEEN THIS! and post some pic thats been on here 500 times. im asking if anyone has got anymore info on this and has found anything cause i cant seem to anywhere online just old crap. Also anyone know who i would contact about this?

There is NOT going to be any 05 CRX.I also hope there will be none for 06 when they come out with the new style Civic-it looks way strange. If they ever decide too bring the name back-I hope it will be later down the road with something better looking.
We all wish it were so, but it's not going to happen. If there was going to be a 2005 CRX, it would be at the dealers right now. The Honda website doesn't have much to say about it either:
http://search.hondacars.com/De...x=CRX
The only prototype and concept car they have is the Ridgeline truck, which should give you an indication of the focus of Honda at this time. You can complain to Honda at their customer relations line:
http://automobiles.honda.com/i...s.asp
The other thing to think about is how the CRX would fit in to their product line. They already have the Civic Si, and the RSX. A small sporty hatch back would impede on those cars sales, and would be a lot of extra expense for not a lot of return.
I agree that Honda had a great car, and maybe one day they will resurrect it like Madza did with the rotary motor. With trends continuing as they are, the truck and SUV sales will decline and small cars will become more appealing to consumers and manufacturers. The old supply and demand thing. A bunch of crazies on the internet is not going to make Honda produce an entirely new car.
In conclusion, I guess all we have to do is stick with Honda, and their power of dreams, because thats all there is of the 2005 CRX.

I'd be right there first in line to buy an 06.....I hope its the most plain jane car around. Afterall our beloved EF's are nothing special. Its what we do them that make them special.
If you love the crx so much why do you want a new one? It will most likely not be the same as it will never be so light. Just keep scooping up the ones we have and fix them up.

Not a replacement........an addition.
Pretty soon it will be more cost effective and more headache free to start with something new.

someone already said this before in a thread kinda like this but in GDD.
But i'll try to explain it again the same way. Honda is known for its family type cars. They are relativly cheap, easily maintained, and last for years and years.
Keeping this in mind, the current generation of cars that are being produced are being bought by middle aged family type groups of people (a mom, dad, and two kids) those of us who love the "sporty" type cars have a few options....the RSX, the Civic Si and others that fit into the standard "cheap honda sports car"
Now think about what the basics of the CRX are...light weight body....and a decent engine. The sporty yet elegant look that demands attention. What two seater, light weight, decently powered car do they have out right now? The S2K. That in my opinion is where the whole CRX project ended up. They made a compact sports car that someone could really enjoy and just because it doesn't have the exact look of the CRX it doesn't mean it isn't a great Honda.
Now onto the idea of remaking the CRX.....as we have seen with countless other makes of cars and trucks the old names are coming around. Mazda has the RX-_ series. Ford has the "new"mustang and of course Chevy has its own **** bag (whatever it is). Now keeping all this in mind i'd think that maybe a 25th anniversary of the CRX my come out. But i wouldn't expect it to be anything like the first ones. If anyone else has done a comparison between the picture of the "prodotype"of the CRX off http://www.crxsi.com and the RSX...they look ALOT alike. And i think some of the design went into the RSX also. But still.....
as for a remake in the next 2-3 years i'm not holding my breath. And i'm more than happy with just owning my 91Si until that very point

For the time being, lets contemplate this surly character.
An Insight without rear wheel covers looks oddly familiar... but I bet they dont handle well at all.

Yea i really hope they come back with it

Thats probably the best point of all. Becuase even though it would be cool to have and for honda to make, they could lose buisness and this world is about buisness and making money. So thats a good pont. Hell i want one tho as long as they look cool. Im sure most of you have seen that civic insight thats blue that people thought could be the new crx and post pics. Well if it looked like that id buy it in a heartbeat. If i knew how to draw i would make a bad *** version and some great interior..
EDIT: Oh and a K series motor
maybe the K16? 6speed close ratio.

Never realised how simular that really is.
That is F%$kn strange.
the shape is 99% spot-on,
just needs minor changes with the front and rear,
and the wheel arches.
A new crx would be great, if done right.
But the way the civics are going,
as said before, honda at the moment are more into family, fuel saving, world peace cars.
So for now, there is no new crx.
and no new info.
Theres been no OFFICIAL info, ever. i dont think.

Ah I was being self centered and only looking at it from my perspective. For me, as a young guy with my summers free and a garage full of any tool I would need, buying a beat up crx to fix is the best route.

I think that until Honda figures out what it is doing, they shouldn't make another CRX. Otherwise we will end up with another car like the new Si, which even the automotive world doesn't take seriously at all. I think that Honda may be diverting all of it's performance vehicles to it's Acura dealers, at least that seems to be the trend lately.
Oh, and I don't know if you guys have heard, but the 280 hp "rule" in Japan has been tossed, with Honda's release of the new 300 hp RL. There was never actually a law, but a gentlemen's agreement by the Japanese car companies to not start a horsepower war in their country. So we'll see where this goes.

Till they figure out what they are doing? Since when did nissan make a motorcycle? I dont believe toyota ever made a lawn mower. And i know for damn sure dihautsu never made a snow blower. They have been around long enough to know whats good. That civic Si might not be in ur intrest but the motor in it is great. I also dont thing the body style is to shabby either.
And the acura, where does this come into play? as far as im concerned acura is the cadillac of honda. From what i hear "Acura" doesnt exist in japan. See we live in this place called america, we like to "De-performance" our imports. For example our Si crx Vs japan Si...that equals KILL now our Si vs japan SiR! Super kill. See this is decided in japan not here.

OK smart guy, obviously I was talking about their automotive products, not their other things.

Wow, that made no sense at all, but I'm guessing it was supposed to be important.
Go read Car & Driver mag, or Road & Track, or better yet, the business section of the newspaper. They give the details on Honda's changing marketing schemes. Acura is their performance brand as well as their luxury brand, and the 300 horsepower, AWD Acura RL is being sold in Japan, as is the RSX (Honda Integra in Japan). The NSX was the same.
If Honda were to make another CRX, it would end up sharing too much DNA with the Civic Si. The only good thing about that car is it's powertrain, and even then it is a 2.0 with only 160 horsepower. What happened to the other 40 horsepower that their Integra gets with the same displacement? Everything else is lackluster. To make it worse, the Si doesn't even accelerate faster than the Honda Odysee van. If you don't believe me, look at Car & Driver's complete vehicle listing, where it is shown. Pretty ******* sad.
Oh, and thanks for reminding me that I lived in America, I totally forgot.

But damn! I mean if u ask me it looks pretty nice. Actually in the old blue drawing they had when that first article came out headlining "crx comeback?" It says japan already HAS a car that people are already calling the crx. That might not be its real name or what they will name it but thats what people were saying. Also in that Blue drawing of it, looks just like that car he photochoped. It had RSX headlights, a squared off back end jusst like that and the same curves with the stance.
I mean even look that the rear tail lights. Same shape from the corner.
See if they made a crx again i bet it would look like that.
