Non HID JDM ITR headlight question...
Are the non hid jdm itr headlights the same as the hid headlights? I'm talking about the glass of the projector. If I was to put hid's in a non hid itr headlight, would the light project the correct way with a cut off line?
they are diffrent..1 I think theres some sort of sheild on the OEM HID headlights
just get the OEM JDM HID LIGHTS..save yourself the trouble.

You mean casper sheild? All that sheild is in projectors is a piece of metal going across the top of the lense, which gives you the "cutoff" line. I already have the hid kit, all I need to know is if the quality glass of the projector is the same.

Thanks ebelp, I did that relpy before you posted yours. We must have been typing at the same time
. I just thought that the hid front end cost more because of the oem hid kit.

It does, since it's doubtful that the HID projectors and housings cost significantly more to manufacture than their halogen counterparts. However, it isn't so much an issue of the HID projectors being "better" or more expensive, as it is an issue of them being optimized for use with D2S HID capsules. The OEM HID housing produce a better beam pattern because they were designed from the start as HID units, rather than being halogen units with HID capsules installed in them.
