Need a seat, harnesses and brackets/rails...
Thought I'd post this over here in case any of you roadracers had some extra stuff laying around... plus I know in this forum people will love you if you make your car safer, so here I go.
I'm about to put a cage in my EG, and it's ******* expensive. SO I am trying to find good deals on a pair of 5-point harnesses (prefer black), and a seat bracket and rails/sliders for my sparco sprint. If anyone has any of this stuff and can hook me up I'd appreciate it.
Also looking for a Recaro Pole Position or SPG, preferably with bracket and rails.
Thanks.

Are these for competition? A couple of people on this forum were selling out-of-date harnesses for pretty cheap. Nothing wrong with them except they are not legal for competition.

Nope just HPDE right now, no racing till 06 probably. I thought I remembered some people selling outdated harnesses but I couldn't find any of the threads.

Thanks for the offer - I'm not sure if I can use it though. Basically I'm trying to install a bottom-mount Sparco and all I have is the seat. So I guess I need a bracket (for EG) and slider/rail (is this one piece and it's either for a bottom-mount or side-mount seat)? I dunno I've never installed a race seat before.

Since your seat is a bottom mount, I would skip the slider and bracket. Just use the slider from your OEM seat. You'll have more head room that way. Oh, and you'll also have a few extra $$ in your pocket too.
Have you seen soyboy's method? : http://homepage.mac.com/owen_t....html

the slider is for a bottom mount seat.. not sure if the predone holes match up, but you could always drill new ones so they would I guess.. just thought I'd offer..
but yeah, using an OEM bracket would save you some money if you can make it work..

For the stock slider you use door straps and bolts from the bottom of the seat to prexisting holes in your factory sliders. They sell the straps you need at any Ace Hardware right next to the ubolts. just get some washers and some longer 12mm bolts. Or just get the floor mount and mount the seat dirrectly you will only need 2 straps. Using sparco aftermaket sliders on bottom mounts will put you up a bit higher than stock.
With the low price of camlocks from safequip and gforce racing there is really no reason to buy used IMO.

If the Sparco is for the passenger side, why bother with sliders at all? Just hard mount in to the floor! Saves some weight, drops the seat height (lower CG) and saves you some loot.

Does Sparco sell a bracket to mount it to the floor directly or would I have to make one? Because now that I think about it that does make alot more sense - it doesn't really need to be adjustable.
My other ? is when mounting the seat to the floor don't the two bars that go across (from the center tunnel to the door sill area) that the stock seat rails mount to get in the way?

You have 2 choices here:
1 - Cut out the braces/mounts (you call them bars) by carefully drilling out the spot welds. Then you have a nice flat (relatively) to mount the seat to.
2 - Make some little stands offs that are just above the height of the bars for the seat to bolt to.

this is what I was thinking about doing but doesn't that bar have some effect on chassis stiffness?

IMO, it doesn't provide any chassis stiffness. At least none that anyone would be able to tell. You can remove it. I've done it in my crx. Check the rulebook if you plane to race it in the future.
Personally, I wouldn't rip them out for a couple reasons.
1) If you mount the seat directly to the floor, you'll sit too low unless you're real tall. If you want to see how low you'll end up being just stick a phone book on the floor of the car and sit on it.
2) The floor is uneven making mounting the seat a pain, plus you'll have to drill more holes through the floor than you'll already have from mounting the harness. And you'd better be good with aiming those holes.
If you didn't want to use your oem seat sliders, get a sparco floor adapter/base and you can directly mount the seat to it with a couple of flat bars. The floor adapter/base will give you a nice flat surface to mount your seat.

Since you are looking for a SPG. You will need some brackets. I have some brackets for sale: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1077542 . I sold my Recaro SRDs with rails to a Porsche owner a couple weeks ago. Let me know. Thanks.
Hehe....I've already bought 3 seat bases from them before. I can already get a decent discount from them, but if someone had some they wanted to get rid of I would be willing to help them out
