ok i'm running open downpipe and my car is idling normal it just pops and sounds like it has a cam in it, loping over and over?

my setup is
revhard mani
sc44
3" dp
38mm tial
precision 1025 intercooler
revhard intercooler piping
hondata s200/ not fully tuned yet
precision 880 injectors

need anymore info on the setup let me know

 

what rpm are you idleing at?

 

i believe its 800 or 850

 

The popping sound is normal, almost every boost honda get it. some people have cat and resonator that why they dont hear it but im 3 inch test pipe and 3 inch exhaust, i can hear it clearly. mine backfire almost every 2 second so your fine.

 

u sure because its sounds like it has a cam just sittin still

uhhh......i must be deaf then. or very unobservant. (i been know to have been). but i have only heard the backfiring when the car wasn't tuned properly.

 

Nah, when my B20 sits an idles open header it sort of stumbles over itself or pops, not loud but suttle alomst like a skip in the idle. Afaik its normal.

mine does it too. I wouldnt worry about it, if its like a popping sound from the exhaust. if its a ticking then i would be more worried

 

Im sure my car is fine, it hondata tune for 12:1 A/F at WOT and around 15:1 A/F idling. As i said some people have cat and resonator which absorb those sound , since im jsut running basically straight pipe i can hear it clearly.

 

Probably your fast idle valve.

my ls does the exact same thing.

 

me 2 pops and pops at idel. All the turbo cars iv seen do it also

 

Before I got tuned, I was running a base map. At idle it would pop occasionally. Now that it is tuned, there is no popping at all. My downpipe is short as fawk also. Perfect idle, no stumbles

 

my car soudns liek that too, like its cammed, and i get the odd pop at idle and when engine braking. sometimes a loud pop after a hard run.

 

Yeah my ls makes that noise too after a hard run, kind of a backfire in between shifts, im running straight exhaust with no cat.
