Default 1800 miles and counting (dyno inisde)

Went and dynoed today. It was a very nice day. Temps were around 60s-70s.

I had a boost spike problem. My boost would go to 10.5psi and hold.

My car did.
443.5hp SAE corrected
276.7tq SAE corrected
11.5:1 a/f ratio
Timing was pretty low also.

We couldnt really tune for more power due to the crazy spike we were getting. The wastegate would hold 6psi perfect until vtec came on, then it would spike 3psi up and continue and hold at 10.5psi. Stock map sensor was plugged in also.
REMEMBER 6psi spring, so the wastegate would open, but when vtec came on it couldnt hold the exhaust gas..

Here is a video. Will scan plot soon.

read the fine print. he was seeing 10.5psi on the logger, but possibly might have been going higher. Still AWESOME numbers

There haven't been too many boosted Rs showing up to the EXPOs.

There's always a lot of ****-talking beforehand, but then it seems that common sense prevails and the turbo guys realize that their car may not make it through a few sessions of high-rpm driving. Or something.

HA! I'm trying to get my dad to come out and double-drive. I'm planning on making a reservation for a tow vehicle in Omaha just in case

... or make it there at all hehehehe After seeing Ken Sax's article about the NSX's on the way to their expo, I'm not sure I can keep up 150 MPH for 3 hours straight. Well, maybe I can.

Can't say I have owned one, but I have driven a few.

They're really a lot of fun, but I'd need at least 400whp in my ITR to be as fast around a road course as I am in my 185 whp NA ITR.

The basic idea is that NA power is more linear, so you can adjust the attitude of the car ever so slightly through a corner, using small adjustments in throttle application and steering input.

If your car is boosted, you simply cannot do that. You must go much slower through a corner, so that boost does not kick in while you are turning. That could spell disaster.

Example: Jack Harris and I were watching a Big-Bore race a few years ago at Summit Point. There were two 993 race cars: one boosted, the other NA. The boosted car had a serious straight-line advantage, but the NA car would reel him in, and sometimes pass, in the twisty bits. After a while, when the boosted car chewed his tires to pieces with all that braking, the NA car finally found its way past.
